Irvine pool hall owner 'sickened' by double break-in attempt

The owner of an Irvine pool hall has been left sickened after his business was targeted twice in one night.

Craig McCready, owner of Irvine 8 Ball Pool club, was alerted to an attempted break in at the property at around 1am last night and another shortly after 3am.

The Townhead property was left damaged but thankfully nothing was stolen on this occasion.

The club was also targeted in March this year.

A devastated Craig said: "My stomach dropped when I found out the club had been hit again.

"This is a family business, we work hard and try our best to keep going for our community. The club is a safe place for kids, it gives them a place to go and stay off the streets.

"But if these break-ins keep happening we won't be able to keep going.

"I'm sickened by it."

In a Facebook post the business alerted its customers to the attempted break-in to let them know the club wouldn't be opened again until 4pm today.

The matter was reported to the police, who are treating it as an attempted break-in.

A spokesperson said that enquiries into the incident are still ongoing.
