Irvine police spark appeal as 15 cars targeted in tyre slashing attacks

Police in North Ayrshire are appealing for information and witnesses after a number of vehicles were damaged in Irvine over the weekend.

Between 3pm on Friday, October 4 and 7.45am October 5, damage was caused to the tyres of at least 15 vehicles parked on Seaton Terrace, Irvine Mains Crescent, Ashgrove, Livingstone Terrace, Golf Place, Ravenscroft, Fleming Terrace and Park Place in the Vineburgh area of the town.

PC Murray of Irvine Police Office is leading the enquiry and said: “Vandalism and anti-social behaviour have a detrimental impact on local communities not to mention the financial cost of victims.

“Enquiries are ongoing into these incidents and I would encourage anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously or indeed anyone who has knowledge of those responsible to please contact us.

“I would also please ask that if you live in Vineburgh and have CCTV or were driving in the area and possess a dash cam please can you review any footage captured, thank you.”

Anyone with information should call Police Scotland via the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident 1036 of the 5th, or alternatively call Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 where anonymity can be maintained.
