Irvine Meadow boss excited by strike options but sounds warning about 'fearless' rivals

Irvine Meadow co-boss Colin Spence this week warned his on-form side to be wary of 'fearless' Bonnyton Thistle.

The Ayrshire rivals meet at Meadow Park tomorrow on WosFL Premier league duty after starkly contrasting starts to the season.

Medda have won two of their opening three league matches and head into the clash on the back of an excellent 3-0 win against Broxburn Athletic in the second round of the Soccer Shop Challenge Cup.

Bonnyton on the other hand have lost all three league fixtures and last weekend they were sent tumbling out the cup by Conference side Craigmark.

Spence however is expecting a tough challenge from Alan Robertson's side.

He said: “Bonnyton are the new kids on the block. They’re a young team and they will be fearless.

“It’s their first year in the Premier League and they’ll come here and enjoying playing on our park.

“We need to make sure we get in their faces and hopefully turn up the way we did at Broxburn and control the game again."

Spence is excited by the attacking options he has at his disposal.

He added: “Our options are great. Dylan Pooler came back in on Saturday having not played the last three and grabs a goal.

“We’ve still got the likes of Michael Reilly and Jamie Martin kicking their heels and desperate to get on and starting every week.

“It’s a nice problem to have.”
