Irvine Meadow boss Colin Spence says he'll be in dreamland if side can clock up back-to-back away wins

Colin Spence insists he’ll be in dreamland if Irvine Meadow win at Largs this weekend.

The delighted boss watched Medda kick off their West of Scotland League campaign with a last-gasp 2-1 win away to Rossvale on Saturday.

He reckons another three points on the road this weekend would constitute the perfect start to life in the senior ranks after being handed a tough start.

Spence said: “We weren’t at our best on Saturday but a win’s a win and we can take real confidence from it.

“It took a late goal to do it but that’s what happens when you keep going at teams.

“We made three positive attacking substitutions in the belief we could go on and win the game.

“Scoring last-gasp goals is a good habit to get into. You start to believe you can do it every week.

“We now have another very difficult away game against Largs to look forward to.

“Another three points is the aim and it’s dreamland if that’s the case.

“It would set us up nicely for our first home game against Hurlford the following weekend.”

Spence, however, is expecting a typically tough afternoon against Stuart ‘Arnie’ Davidson’s side.

He added: “Largs are always a very difficult team to play against.

“They’ve got some great players such as Ben Black who I really like, Scott Adam who is a proven striker at this level and Kier Milliken who they brought in over the summer.

“Arnie also has habit of bringing quality players in on loan from Morton so we know they are going to be a strong team.

“That said, we will be expecting our boys to go into the game to win. We’ve a lot of talent and it’s about the boys believing how good they can be.”
