Kilwinning Rangers and Irvine Meadow are poised to meet in a pre-season double header - with a trophy at stake.
The rivals are looking to square up for a planned two-legged affair in an inaugural Eglinton Cup clash.
The showpiece matches - which could be become a regular pre-season event - were originally planned for last summer but never got off the ground due to Covid-19 restrictions.
Now both clubs are keen to find slots in their friendly fixtures schedule ahead of the new West of Scotland League season kicking off on July 17.
Meadow have already lined up provisional friendly opposition in the shape of Lowland League cracks BSC Glasgow and East Kilbride while Kilwinning are hopeful of attracting SPFL opposition to Buffs Park for some glamour pre-season action.
