Irvine footballer Erin Cuthbert joins Messi and Ronaldo in latest FIFA video game

Move over Messi, Neymar and Ronaldo - Fifa19 has a new World Cup star.

Irvine ace Erin Cuthbert features in a new update of the smash hit video game which allows players to compete in a virtual version of the FIFA Women's World Cup Final.

Players can take control of 22 women's national teams - including Scotland - who have qualified for the real-life tournament which kicks off in France this Sunday.

Developers EA Sports have faithfully recreated the full Scots squad and Chelsea Ladies star Cuthbert has a starring role as a starting striker.

The graphics don't do the 20-year-old former Greenwood Academy pupil justice up close.

But the gaming giants have done a good job of capturing the skillful forward's movements on and off the ball.

With an overall rating of 77, Cuthbert is one of the best players in the Scottish squad.

To play as Erin and the Scots you must have either an Xbox One, PS4 or PC.

Access Kick-Off mode from the games main menu, select Scotland and an opponent, and the match was progress to the Stade de Lyon - the actual venue for the 2019 Women's World Cup final.

Cuthbert will be targeting a starting place against England when the Scots kick-off their Group D campaign at the Stade de Nice on Sunday.
