Irvine flute band to celebrate 35th anniversary with 'parade and culture day'

Irvine’s Newtown Defenders Flute Band is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year.

And on Saturday, May 11, to mark the occasion the band will be leading a parade and hosting a ‘culture day’ at the town’s Volunteer Rooms.

The 35th anniversary parade will assemble at 11.30am at Redburn Community Centre car park, in Dickson Drive, Irvine,  before moving off at 11.45am.

Once the parade arrives at the Volunteer Rooms the band’s cultural day will take place.

The bands on parade  are Newtown Defenders FB, Abbey Star FB, Ardrossan Winton FB, Glasgow Orange Defenders FB, Heroes Of The Somme FB, Prince of Orange FB, Sandy Road FB, Saltcoats Protestant Boys FB, Stirling Protestant Boys FB, Springside Derry FB, Paisley Protestant Boys FB and Pride of the Village FB

Admission to the Volunteer Rooms will be £3 and the day will finish at 7pm.
