Irvine beach park plays host to Race for Life

Irvine’s Race for Life took place at the town’s beach park last night. 

Nan Dodds, a volunteer at the Troon Cancer Research UK shop, started the race, with DJ Billy Kirkwood providing words of encouragement to the runners before the race.

Meanwhile, Irvine woman Adrienne Thomson, a keen Cancer Research UK supporter, warmed up the runners.

Around 800 runners took part, raising around £41,000 for Cancer Research UK.
