Career Stats

Smith produced at a consistent rate the past two season, developing into one of the top SEC offensive players. He ended his career by positing 710 yards, seven touchdowns and an average of 16.3 yards per catch in 2018.

As a player, Smith has one of the more well- rounded skill sets in this year’s draft class at the position. Smith has the speed, route running ability, and burst to get open. Despite not having the largest catch radius, Smith possesses strong hands to snag the ball in the air when being targeted. He is the type of player that can impact the passing game at all levels.

The former Alabama product can excel as a blocker as well, creating movement in the run game and is able to sustain his blocks during the play. He’s aggressive at the point of attack and doesn’t back down against some of the top tier defenders.

Overall, Smith is still unpolished in a couple areas, but his athletic traits, ball skills and competitive nature makes out to be an NFL starting tight end.

Projection: 2nd Round
