Irritated Sara Davies blasts 'insulting' Dragons' Den entrepreneurs

An irritated Sara Davies made her thoughts clear on Dragons' Den tonight as she blasted two entrepreneurs.

Leanne and Jacob had come to the Den pitching their idea of Vitamin Coffee.

Their coffee contained 14 essential minerals and vitamins recommended in an adult's daily dose in just one cup.

The couple were looking for a £50,000 investment and a 33.3% share in the business.

However, the Dragons were surprised to learn it wasn't a start-up and they had in fact purchased the company from their friend.

They explained that they bought Vitamin Coffee, which was turning over thousands pounds every year, for £5,000.

Sara instantly spotted an issue, saying: "But in the last two years you've done £10,000?

"So you haven't really done a lot more than what he's done."

Leanne and Jacob explained how they have been running a second business on which they had previously focussed all their attention, but they were now committed to Vitamin Coffee.

Sara then asked Leanne for the predicted turnover for their business in 2021.

However, she forgot the numbers and had to rely on Jacob.

He revealed the pair had predicted a turnover of £176,000 at the end of the year.

Sara then asked how much they had made in the first six months, to which Leanne replied £5,549.

Sara said: "So when you wrote these projections were you expecting to be at £5,000 after six months and be at £176,000 at the year-end?

"I trust that you know and understand this stuff but what you're saying to me now makes me think you're in cuckoo land.

"I don't know what makes you think that we can't see through the talk and actually we need to see some substance and that's what we haven't seen.

"And honestly it's a bit insulting to us that you think you can just come in and talk the talk not walk the walk."

Sara along with the other Dragons decided not to invest in Vitamin Coffee.
