This led to shocking scenes of hundreds of irresponsible people queuing up for their final Big Mac, despite the Government telling people only to leave for essentials.
This all happened yesterday, before the announcement that the country was going into a lockdown.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson addressed the nation last night, saying that people who are found to be leaving the house without a valid reason may be subject to fines.
He also banned gatherings of more than two people, unless it is family, and has given the police powers to disperse of large crowds.
People should now stay at home, unless they have to leave for food, medicine or to go for daily exercise.
The announcement of a lockdown came as coronavirus cases continued to rise in the UK and Scotland.
As of 2pm yesterday, there was a confirmed 499 cases in Scotland, with 14 deaths. 9364 people have been tested for the virus.
