Interesting in the Tory leadership debate on Channel 4 (Report, 17 June) that when asked what their priorities are for action, aside from Brexit, they all talked of the poor state of “broken Britain”, apparently unaware of the fact that we got here under their watch.

• If only the five contestants for the leadership of the Conservative party, bursting with ideas and solutions, had been around for the last 10 years, we would have solved many of the issues facing Britain today. Did they all come from outer space?
