Irons legend calls for West Ham to make Jack Grealish transfer instead of Tottenham Hotspur

Jack Grealish's name is one that will mentioned throughout the final weeks of the season and no doubt into the midst of the transfer window as side's line up to finally lure him away from Villa Park.

Tottenham appeared close to £25m deal last summer but with new owners Aston Villa were able to reject the offer and the clubs were unable to come to terms.

Spurs are still closely linked to the creative midfielder because of their need to have a great number of homegrown players but West Ham legend Frank McAvennie believes Grealish could take the Hammers to the next level.

The 59-year-old told Ian Stone's Comedy Breakfast: "The boy has got talent, that's for sure. He's got a bit about him. He's got a bit of swagger which is not a bad thing for West Ham,"

"They could do with someone like that to go in and take them to the next level."

"They've got some good players but I don't know how you're going to get them all on the same pitch," McAvennie added.

The Hammers are beginning to build quite the contingent of creative players with the likes of Felipe Anderson and Samir Nasri added to Manuel Lanzini in midfielder. McAvennie expects that Pellegrini will look for more additions this summer and isn't concerned by bringing in another player of such calibre.

He said: "There's lots of very good players in there and in midfield, but I think he's looking for some players at the end of the season.

"We've just got wait and see what kind of players he brings in. Grealish would be a good one.

"I wouldn't say no to that."
