Ironmongery business Project Hardware goes into liquidation

An ironmongery business with offices in Bristol and Cardiff has gone into liquidation, with the loss of six jobs.

Project Hardware, which is based in Brislington in Bristol and on Keen Road in the Welsh capital, sells products including handles and hinges for architecture companies and building contractors.

The company appointed joint liquidators Mark Roach and Graham Randall of Quantuma LLP to oversee the winding up of the business on Monday, August 19.

The directors of Project Hardware have blamed the closure on a reduction in turnover and margins, resulting from online competition and customers buying directly from manufacturers, according to the liquidators.

Mr Roach said: “The company ceased trading with the loss of six jobs including those of the directors.”

Project Hardware was a distributor for all the major UK and European ironmongery manufacturers, according to the company’s website.

It states: “Project Hardware Ltd is lead by a highly experienced and hands-on management team dedicated to providing a full architectural ironmongery service to architects and building contractors.”

The active directors named on Companies House are Richard Williams and Stephen Rudge, and the company was incorporated in January 1999.
