Irn-Bru unveils plans for new energy drink

Irn-Bru will give its loyal fans a bit of a boost with the launch of this new product.

The beloved Glasgow firm is releasing an energy drink next month next month, which promises a "totally different taste experience" to the regular recipe.

They will use a brand-new formula which combines the iconic flavour of their top secret essence with the taurine, caffeine, B vitamins and taste of a regular energy drink.

Most details are being kept strictly under wraps until its official launch on July 1, but bosses confirm "it's designed to meet the needs of today’s energy drinker" (but unfortunately for any of you still feeling bitter about their most recent play about with their ingredients, that doesn't mean loads more sugar).

The inside of this house proves you can never judge a book by its cover

Adrian Troy, marketing director at A.G. Barr, said: “We know there are a huge number of Irn-Bru fans who love energy drinks, so we’re excited to reveal our plans for Irn-Bru Energy.

“Energy drinks are a really fast-growing, exciting market and we’re confident Irn-Bru Energy will wake up and shake up energy drink fans in Scotland and beyond.”

IRN-BRU Energy will be available in sugar and no sugar variants stocked from July in shops across Scotland, Ireland and the North of England.

Featuring the iconic strongman on pack, the liquid will be Bru’s distinctive orange colour and will contain 32mg of caffeine per 100ml, which is roughly the same as a medium latte from high street coffee chains.
