Irn-Bru makers A.G. Barr donate 250,000 bottles of water to staff at NHS Louisa Jordan

The makers of Irn-Bru have done their bit to help frontline workers amid the coronavirus crisis by donating 250,000 bottles of water to staff at the new NHS Louisa Jordan.

A.G. Barr, based in Cumbernauld, made the delivery yesterday morning to the new temporary hospital at the SEC in Glasgow to keep both NHS staff and construction workers hydrated.

The hospital took to Twitter to thank the soft drinks manufacturer for the incredible donation, which arrived on the back of an Irn Bru lorry.

They said: "AG Barr have donated 250,000 bottles of Strathmore water to our NHS staff and construction workers at the @NHSLouisaJordan - thank you for the generous donation!"

The donation follows that of current Scotland and Leeds United footballer Stuart McKinstry, who sent care boxes to staff at Glasgow Royal Infirmary and Wishaw General Hospital after his grandad made a successful recovery from coronavirus.

Staff on Ward 46 of the Royal, where his cousin's girlfriend works, managed to get two nights’ worth of dinner from the 17-year old midfielder's generous donation.
