Irn-Bru chicken pakora recipe goes viral on TikTok as Glasgow man cooks up ultimate dish

A Glasgow man has gone viral on TikTok with a video of him making what could only be described as the ultimate Glasgow dish - Irn-Bru chicken pakora.

Myles Omar's amazing recipe video has been viewed over half a million times and been 'liked' nearly 70,000 times since he posted it on the platform yesterday - and even caught the attention of Irn-Bru, who shared it on their Instagram page.

He starts the video by saying: "Alright sh*****s, what's happening? I'm making an Irn-Bru chicken pakora today. That's right, I'm making an Irn-Bru chicken pakora today!

The recipe video sees Myles take a pure Glasgow spin on the popular Indian snack by adding some of Scotland's other national drink into the mix of spices, flour, lemon juice, garlic and ginger paste he marinades the chicken in a bowl before sticking it in a frier.

The results he says in the video are 'bangin' - as he serves it up on a plate with some pakora sauce and some 'Irn-Bru shots'.

Speaking to Glasgow Live, Myles, from the southside, said he has been "blown away" by the response the video has had so far and added that he hopes it might earn the attentions of celeb chef Gordon Ramsay given the fact so many are tagging him under it.

Chicken strips 800g
1tbsp garlic & ginger Paste
Half a lemon
1tsp salt
1tsp black pepper coarse
1tbsp fenugreek leaves
1tsp paprika powder
2cups of gram flour
Half tsp bicarbonate soda
Half tsp ajwain seeds
1tsp chilli powder
1tsp spoon coriander powder
1tsp cumin powder
1tsp garam masala powder
3tbsp of vegetable oil
Half tsp orange colour
200ml Irn bru
100ml water
