'Irn-Bru and Yer Da Sells Avon' - the most hilarious of this year's viral Scots Halloween costumes

Halloween may always be the spookiest time of the year, but it's also when people tend to be at their most creative with Scots usually getting a little more creative than most.

This year certainly didn't let us down with some brilliant efforts on offer and hilarious get-ups making it online where they quickly went viral.

These inventive guisers went the extra mile and we definitely appreciate their efforts, particularly when they raise a smile or two too along the way.

From Irn-Bru to Yer Da Sells Avon costumes, here are some of our favourite of this year's viral Scots Halloween costumes.

Yer Da Sells Avon

One of the best slaggings of recent times was the inspiration behind this hilarious effort, with Twitter user @mootings_ on hand to capture the cracking effort, which has had nearly 40,000 likes and shared across Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.

Mini-Hannibal Lecter

This mini-Hannibal Lector is brilliant (Edinburgh Live)

This cracking effort was shared with our sister title, Edinburgh Live, over the weekend and we absolutely love it.

Irn-Bru

Twitter user Pam Doove also hit the sweet spot with this brilliant and creative effort, that saw her turn her flowing red locks into a bottle of Scotland's favourite ginger.

Insta vs Reality

It seems even pets were getting in on the act and even when they aren't totally successful, they are still able to make us laugh with this fun effort from Twitter user @AlisonMunro17.
