An Irish woman managed to capture a bizarre ‘ghost’ figure on camera at Leap Castle in Co. Offaly.
The sighting occurred back in August when Kerry O’Brien attended a Paranormal evening with a professional group of investigators.
Describing the night the picture was taken, Kerry told the Irish Mirror; “Our first investigation was in Leap Castle back in August, it was the Paranormal Adventures Ireland that actually ran the night. They invited us down with another group called soul sisters.
"At the beginning we all met up in the common area of the castle and made a plan for the night because there are two different rooms that you can go to.
“The first room was the gallery room, but there wasn’t really much in terms of evidence of anything happening there that night, so we took a break and then went up to the Chapel.
“We were doing EVP (electronic voice phenomena) work - most of which was just talking to yourself, but then when we were quiet in the room we could hear conversations below us, but we knew nobody else was there so we thought ‘right, that’s interesting.’
“Then I just took out the camera and started taking pictures, and then when we went back downstairs, I was going through them and I thought ‘what is that.’”
After studying the picture, the group tried everything to debunk the idea of it being a ghost, and Kerry said that “I wouldn’t usually look at something like this immediately and say it’s a ghost. You try and debunk it in every way before you say that... and even then, I don’t call it a ghost because you can’t know for sure, you just think ‘wow that’s interesting.’"
Explaining how the group tried to come up with an explanation for the photo, Kerry said:
“First off we went around to everyone and got them to show us exactly what they were wearing and what shoes they were wearing - in case it was one of the other people in the group.
“We just couldn’t explain it then, and we tried recreating it and everything and just cannot explain it.
“The ground is also all small stones, so if somebody in the group has of been walking at the time of the photo we would have heard it as well - but there was no noise, no nothing.”
She says that over the years she has managed to catch voices on record but never anything when it came to actual photographic evidence.
“You might get the odd orb, or you the usual shadows but I’ve never caught anything like this before.”
Kerry, along with her Fiance, and two sisters-in-law now run a paranormal group called the spooks and are hoping to head back to Leap Castle in January 2022 to see what more they can find.
