One Irishman was left fuming are paying a "ridiculous" price for a drink at a Dublin bar.
The man posted a receipt of the cocktail which showed the price coming to €17.90 for one beverage.
He had visited the unnamed premises recently with a companion where he ordered an 'Italian Lady' drink.
To add insult to injury, the bill included a "staff cover charge for two" which added another €2 to the total.
"This is getting ridiculous," he said, commenting on prices in the capital.
"It’s two for one cocktails and Italian lady is one of their cocktails. So it’s not really two for one with them outrageous prices."
The punter had not been informed a cover charge would be added, saying that although he paid it, customers should be aware of service charges before the receipt is issued.
People commenting on the Reddit Ireland thread where the message was posted were equally outraged by the "rip-off" prices.
One person said: "18 quid for a single cocktail. What an absolute rip. The 2 euro service charge is just a mocking insult."
A second replied: "Italian lady for €17.90. I mean with prices like that the €2 euro service charge wouldn't bother me."
A third person added: "Staff won't see that money."
While a fourth said: "Should read 'here's us slapping on 2 euro in hopes that you won't notice and we have no intention of giving a cent of it to the staff'."
Another person replied: "You don't have to pay service charges.. although it appears of the receipt you can tell them to reissue without this charge."
Someone else wrote: "Every day here on Ireland sub, you find just another cheeky way someone goes that extra mile, ripping people off.
"It's like everyone going sure let's make this country 3 star Michelin where s**t is most expensive, while we serve a glass of water. Anyone ripping people off should really become named.
"Like we have decent reviews system nowadays where people can expose shitty places thus if it happens let everyone know."
