While Ireland still remains under strict lockdown there was a very different picture emerging in the UK yesterday.
April 12 marked the moderate easing of restrictions over here with the 5km travel limit being scrapped and outdoor gatherings with one other person allowed.
Yesterday was also a day that the UK saw the easing of their own lockdown however the changes were significantly different due to the speedy pace of their vaccine rollout.
And the biggest change to lockdown rules abroad was the reopening of pubs as countless Brits flocked to watering holes across the island to sink a few cold ones.
Naturally most people in Ireland have looked on filled with envy at our neighbours who are enjoying a relative return to normality.
There was joyful scenes as pictures and videos circulated on social media of crispy pints and crowds of people enjoying themselves.
However one Irish man abroad was quick to quell people's jealous rage by comparing the quality of pints over in the UK compared to here.

Ian Ryan originally from Cork has spent the last few years living in London and is a Guinness enthusiast.
So much so that it has inspired him to set a number of social media pages directly dedicated to when a bad pint of the black stuff is poured aptly titled 'shitlondonguinness'.
And last night Ian was able to help ease the pain of many Irish people after sharing a picture of an absolutely dreadful pint.
Sharing a host of photos of the brutal Guinness he wrote: "Pubs been open about 5 minutes and the offenders are already appearing."
Posting a picture of a set of horrific takeaway pints he added: "This will give me nightmares tonight."
His post was met with a host of Twitter replies from people sharing a mix of both the absolute worst pints and some of the most delightful pints they've ever had.
While there are no signs of pubs opening any time soon in Ireland, the joyful scenes offer some hope that we can soon be like our neighbours.
