Irish women have been proven to be better drivers than men according to new research

Research has shown that women are proven to be better and safer drivers than men.

A study conducted by its4women.ie used a ‘smart driver’ tool to analyse a range of drivers over the space of six months.

The study showed that when it comes to accelerating, hard braking and cornering, women are far better drivers than men.

It found that 69% of men are contributors to the “dangerous act of over accelerating.”

The research saw that women who worked in science or engineering were the safest drivers with 72% of them deemed to be cautious drivers.

Connacht was the county with the safest female drivers with 82% of them deemed as safe drivers.

Teachers were the most cautious drivers among men with “71% of these passing the study’s safe test.”

The data showed that women in Dublin were less likely to brake harshly, 62%, and 44% had “never triggered an acceleration incident.”

Men in Munster are proven to be the riskiest drivers at 39%.
