Irish woman left ‘disgusted’ by hotel break and tells of high price for 'pure filth' and 'damp linen'

An Irish woman took to Tripadvisor to leave a particularly harsh review for a hotel after describing her experience as ‘pure filth’.

Other guests of the same place raised concerns about nobody actually working in the small venue, while prices were sky high for a room.

One ‘disgusted’ guest warned potential customers that the main bathroom in reception was horrendous, while the car park looked like a dump, they were given damp linen on their beds, and their bathroom in the room was "dirty".

Throughout Covid, staycations have become the new go-to for people looking for a break, but with the rise in activity, some places are being torn apart online.

Describing her stay, the woman wrote; “I should have checked Tripadvisor on this place as it's pure filth.

“The car park looked like a dump. We couldn't get into our room when we returned and neither could the night porter.

“Strangely our names and room were not on his list. During this, we had to use the toilet downstairs, where the smell of urine could knock a bull.

“I decided to hold onto it till we eventually got in our room. Bed linen felt damp and the toilet was dirty and dull looking.

“I kept my coat on during the night in the hope I didn't get a cold from the damp linen. Four of us in the room.”

She explained that the party of four was charged €200 each for the room with no breakfast included, but said; “That was probably a good thing as I wouldn’t eat from a mouldy, damp, dirty place.”

Other reviews of the same location describe how “no staff work here. The lady who works below the "hotel" apparently helps by handing the keys to visitors.”

Another said; “I'm amazed this place has not been condemned. Note to self, ALWAYS check reviews.”
