Irish weather: Met Eireann forecast fog to descend during frosty weekend in Ireland

Ireland will have to wrap up warm as Met Eireann say there's a chilly weekend in store for Ireland

Saturday will be a cold day with frost, icy patches and mist.

Met Eireann forecast most places will be dry, there'll be a few showers on the northwest coast and there'll be hazy sunshine for a time.

Tonight will have lowest temperatures minus 1 to plus 3 °C with temperatures rising a little around dawn.

Sunday will start mostly cloudy with isolated showers, but the afternoon is expected to be dry and sunny.

Next week it will be cold and frosty at first, but milder and wetter from Tuesday onwards with rain at times.

There will be frost and fog clearing slowly on Monday with sunny spells developing.

Highest temperatures 4 to 8 °C and it will be cold after dark, with a patchy frost.



On Tuesday, rain is due to fall in all areas for a time, heavy in places, brighter weather, with sunny spells and just a few showers is set to follow into the western half of the country from the Atlantic in the afternoon.

Highest temperatures of 7 to 10 °C in moderate to fresh south to southeast breezes.

Drying out in all areas overnight. Cold with lowest temperatures of zero to plus 3 °C with patches of mist and frost.
Wednesday and Thursday will be mild and breezy, with showers or longer spells of rain, much of it heavy, with southern and eastern areas likely to see most of the heavy rain.
