This weekend is set to be a washout in many parts as thundery showers are set to spill again on Saturday night.
According to Met Eireann, many of the showers will be heavy, merging to give longer spells of rain in places, with a risk of flash flooding.
It will also be unseasonably windy over the southern half of the country with moderate to fresh and gusty winds, strong to near galeforce at times.
Sunday will feel cooler and less humid, with overnight showery rain slow to clear. It will be drier and brighter for a time, but isolated showers in the west will extend eastwards as the day goes on with heavy, thundery rains set to return on Monday.
Tuesday will be mostly cloudy with winds likely to veer around to the southwest, which will allow temperatures to return somewhat closer to average.
Elsewhere, Dublin Councils have closed a number of bathing areas after another wastewater spill because of the heavy rainfall.
As a result, a bathing ban is now in place for Dollymount, Merrion, Sandymount, Seapoint, Sandycove, the Forty Foot, Killiney and White Rock.
Bathing bans are also in place in Trá na bhForbacha and An Trá Mór, Coill Rua in Co Galway, Coolmaine in Co Cork, and in the Velvet Strand in Finglas.
