Irish weather forecast: Weekend to remain mostly dry as Ireland enjoys some sunshine

Ireland is set to enjoy some sunshine over the weekend as rain stays away from most of the country.

Met Eireann has revealed that Saturday will be dry with mostly sunny spells, apart from the odd scattered shower in the north and west.

A spokesman for the national forecaster said: "Dry in most areas today with sunny spells, but a few scattered light showers will occur in the north and west.

"Maximum temperatures 8 to 10 degrees, in mostly light variable breezes, but winds will be moderate westerly along north and northwest coasts.

"Tonight will remain mostly dry with partly clear skies. It will turn cold with frost in many areas.

"Minimum temperatures will be between -2 to +2 degrees, though values will be a little higher along west and northwest coasts. Winds will be light in most areas, but in the north moderate to fresh westerly winds will develop overnight."
