We're in for a warm and sunny weekend - but it appears that our Indian Summer is set to come a to close next week, as the remnants of Hurricane Humberto bring gale force winds.
Today will see pleasant highs of around 21C with long sunny spells across much of the country.
But the late autumn bloom will not stick around for long, with strong winds and rain expected on Monday afternoon.
Temperatures will drop, with heavy rain and high winds sticking around for the majority of next week.
Met Eireann is predicting a period of 'unsettled cool and windy weather' for the second-half of next week.
A forecaster said: "A warm and sunny weekend is in store as temperatures continue to rise - but it's not all good news with more unsettled weather on the horizon.
"Today will be quite warm with long sunny spells and highs of 17 to 21 degrees.
Tonight will remain dry in most areas with good clear spells, with lowest temperatures 10 to 13 degrees.
"Saturday will start off dry in most areas with sunny spells over the north and east. There will be showery rain in the southwest will spread gradually eastwards during the afternoon and evening.
"The rain will turn heavy over parts of Munster and Connacht late in the day, whereas some eastern counties may remain dry.
"Sunday will be mostly cloudy cooler and windy with further showery outbreaks of rain.
"Some heavy downpours are possible locally, but winds veering southwest will heave eased and rain will clear in the evening."
The remnants of Hurricane Humberto will hit around Monday - but UK experts say it will have died down by the time it hits Ireland.
Met Eireann say we can expect cool conditions with more persistent rain.
A forecaster said: "Monday will see a return to cooler conditions more typical for the time of year. There'll be a more persistent spell of rain introducing unsettled weather for the early days of next week."
Looking ahead to next week, the forecaster added: "Present signs are for a continuation of distinctly unsettled cool and windy weather for the second half of next week
"Monday will begin bright and dry in most places. Another batch of rain and strong winds arriving in the west before midday will quickly spread countrywide with strong to gale force southerly winds.
"More rain will follow on Tuesday again accompanied by strong winds and temperatures falling back below normal.
"Some sizable accumulations of rainfall are possible and then very showery and blustery conditions will follow for Wednesday."
