Friday looks set to be another pleasant spring day with highs of 15C but temperatures will drop sharply over the weekend.
Met Eireann warned we will see "very cold" daytime temperatures on Sunday and "widespread frost" at night.
Temperatures will plunge to -2C in parts of the country on both Saturday and Sunday night as the cold snap bites.
Meanwhile, this morning will see frost, fog and misty patches will give way to reveal a dry day with a mix of cloud and sunshine, with highs of 9C to 15C.

Tonight however, will see the mercury drop to lows of 1C with a touch of frost in places.
And the north and west will shiver on Saturday night with frost expected in these areas.
Looking ahead to Saturday, a Met Eireann forecaster said: "Feeling colder tomorrow, Saturday, in moderate to fresh and gusty northeasterly winds.
"Another dry day for most though, with sunny spells, but it will cloud over at times too, especially during the afternoon.
"Isolated showers are possible near east and north coasts."
Highest temperatures will reach 8C to 13C, with best values away from north and east facing coasts.
We'll feel the nip in the air on Saturday night with lows of -2C to +2C.
Sunday will start off frosty in the north and west and it will be unseasonably cold during the day.
A forecaster revealed: "Very cold for the time of year with afternoon highs of just 5C or 6C in Ulster and east Leinster, 7C or 8C elsewhere."
And there will be "widespread frost" on Sunday night with lows of -2C to +2C.
