Make the most of Saturday while you can as temperatures are set to plummet into minus territory over the Bank Holiday Weekend.
After some early showers and fog, Saturday will get off to a dry and mostly sunny start. Temperatures will reach around 9C in moderate to fresh westerly winds.
Tonight will be dry and clear but there will be a notable chill in the air with the likelihood of frost and ice as temperatures dip to -1C.
The frost and ice will clear early on Sunday leaving a dry and mostly sunny day and although Sunday night will be cold, calm and clear, frost will develop overnight with lows of -2
A Met Eireann forecaster said: "Early rain and fog will clear on Saturday morning, becoming dry and fairly sunny, though of a few heavy blustery showers will develop in the northwest.
"It will be cool, with highs of 7 to 10C, in moderate to fresh westerly winds."
Looking ahead to Sunday the forecaster added: "Some further showers will affect the northwest tonight, otherwise staying dry and clear.


"It will turn cold though, with frost and possible ice. Lowest temperatures -1 to +3C, in light to moderate westerly breezes.
"Frost and any ice clearing early on Sunday to leave a dry and mostly sunny day. Highest temperatures 9 to 11C in light northerly breezes.
"Sunday night will be cold, calm, clear and frosty with overnight lows of -2 to plus 2C. Some icy patches possible too."
The outlook for the start of next week looks to be in the same vein as this weekend.
The forecaster concluded: "It will be cool and largely dry on Monday and for much of Tuesday, with frost setting in after dark.
"Some uncertainty thereafter, but with the risk of some wet and windy weather pushing up from the southwest later Tuesday and into Wednesday.
"On Monday, early frost will clear to give a mostly dry day with spells of hazy sunshine but cloudier spells also with the risk of a few light showers up along the east coast.
"Highest temperatures 8 to 11C in moderate easterly breezes, which will be fresh at times up along Irish Sea coasts. Cold overnight with some frost and minima generally falling back to the low single figures."
