Ireland is set to soak up more glorious sunshine, with highs of 22C today.
Much of the country saw beautiful weather yesterday although it was cooler in the south.
Met Eireann say any morning mist or fog will ease giving way to hazy sunshine and a warm, dry day.
A forecaster said: "Warm, with highs of 18C to 22C degrees generally, but a little cooler in the south and along the east coast where patches of sea fog may linger. A mostly moderate southerly breeze will increase fresh on some coasts."
We will see some light rain across the country tonight, with a clearance following from the west.
Overall, it will be a mild night with lows of 7C to 10C in a light westerly breeze.
But tomorrow will bring about major change, as "heavy rain" is set to lash the southwest and east.
Met Eireann said: "Thursday starts dry and mostly sunny. Cloud will soon increase from the west, turning the sunshine hazy, with all areas becoming cloudy by late afternoon.
"Heavy rain will arrive in the southwest during the evening and extend eastwards. A mild day, with highs of 16C to 20C.
"Southeasterly winds will strengthen later in the day, becoming fresh to strong by evening."
And the weather will continue to be unsettled for several days, weather chiefs have warned.
A forecaster said: "Initially very unsettled, with wet and windy weather. Transitioning to an Atlantic flow with sunshine and showers.
"Then becoming settled again with high pressure building from Sunday with warm and sunny weather early next week."
