High temperatures are here to stay as Ireland’s weather reaches up to 22C.
But don’t get too excited just yet because Met Eireann have ruled out any sign of a heatwave.
The sun is to stay shining for the rest of the week after a period of dull and rainy weather.
It has been advised to keep the sun cream on standby as today is expected to be the hottest day of the week.
The forecaster said: “Warm with top afternoon temperatures of 17 to 21 Celsius, but temperatures a few degrees cooler along south and east coasts due to the onshore breeze.”
Met Eireann have said that there is no heat wave on its way as of yet although it may feel like one after the cold weather Ireland experienced last week.
There will be a few consecutive days of warm and dry weather but not extreme enough for it to be labelled as a heatwave.
Temperatures will reach between 17C and 21C in most of the country, with Connacht reaching 22C.

Tomorrow and Thursday are to see the same high temperatures across the country but will begin to fall by Thursday evening.
Friday’s weather is to bring some scattered showers and temperatures are to drop to 18C.
The forecaster added: “Cloudier conditions with scattered showers will spread across the country on Friday. However, there will be some sunshine, especially towards evening across the north and east of the country.”
