Irish weather forecast: Temperatures to hit 18C but rain is on the way

Temperatures are set to hit 18C this weekend but rain is on the way.

Although it's going to be warm over the coming days, scattered showers are expected in parts the country.

Today will be mostly cloudy with the “odd limited bright or sunny spell” but will see an isolated shower in the east and northeast.

Tonight there will be outbreaks of showery rain in parts of the country but it will be mostly dry throughout with temperatures between 6C to 9C.

Friday will see the same high temperatures of 18C with a few showers breaking out in the afternoon.

A Met Eireann forecaster said: “The showers are heaviest and most frequent in the west and southwest, elsewhere showers will be more isolated with a lot of dry weather with some sunny intervals.”

Saturday is set to see the same mix of sunny spells and scattered showers.

Irish weather forecast: Met Eireann predict highs of 20C next week as mini heatwave set to continue 

It will be mainly dry conditions with high temperatures of 18C and light northerly breezes.

Sunday will be more of the same, starting out sunny with high temperatures.

The forecaster said: “In the afternoon a few showers will develop but there will be further sunny spells as well.”

Next week is to see temperatures improve even more with them reaching up to 20C by Tuesday.
