Irish weather forecast: More rain to batter Ireland despite Storm Hannah passing

Met Eireann predicts more "heavy rain" for Ireland after Storm Hannah battered the country overnight.

A further Status Yellow weather warning for 20 counties was issued at 4am on Saturday morning and in place until 9am, before being removed.

Ulster will be hit worst by the rainfall on Saturday as the rest of the country sees sunny spells and blustery showers.

Met Eireann said: "During the afternoon, the rain in Ulster will largely clear and the strong northwesterly winds will moderate.

"By evening, much of the country will be dry with spells of sunshine and top temperatures of 8 to 12 degrees.

"Saturday night will see light winds and some shallow mist and fog in patches and as the night goes on, there will be patchy outbreaks of light rain in the south and west.

"It will remain rather cold overnight with temperatures hitting as low as three to six degrees. "
