Irish weather forecast: Mix of sunshine and heavy showers for All-Ireland hurling final in Croke Park

Hurling fans will be descending on Dublin today to see Kilkenny and Tipperary clash in the All-Ireland final.

The morning will get off to a good start as Met Eireann are forecasting dry and sunny conditions in the east and south and highs of 19C in Croke Park by 2pm.

But the national forecaster has also predicted some heavy showers for Dublin.

A forecaster said: "Breezy today with showers throughout the day, some heavy.

"There will be sunny intervals as well. Highest temperatures of 17C to 19C. Westerly winds will be moderate to fresh and gusty."

And the north and west will be lashed by widespread showers today, some becoming heavy with a chance of thunder.

It's set to clear up later with showers will become confined to Atlantic coasts with good clear spells. Lowest temperatures of 9C to 11C  and moderate to fresh westerly winds will ease somewhat later.

Heading into tomorrow, Met Eireann revealed it'll be more of the same, with further sunny spells and showers again and highs of 16C to 19C in moderate westerly winds.

A forecaster said: "Monday night will start largely dry with clear spells. Later cloud will increase from the west with rain or drizzle on west coasts by morning.

"Lowest temperatures of 9C to 12C with light westerly winds.

"Tuesday will be a duller day with outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Highest temperatures of 17C to 20C in just light to moderate westerly breezes."
