A wet weekend is in store for Ireland - but temperatures are set to soar early next week.
Met Eireann has warned of thundery showers this weekend, despite highs of 17C expected to be recorded.
Sunny spells will be seen on Saturday afternoon, but scattered showers could turn heavy. Highest temperatures will range from 13C to 16C.
A forecaster said: "This morning rain in the northeast will soon clear along with any lingering patches of mist in the north and east.
"Otherwise there will be scattered showers today with sunny spells, some of the showers could turn heavy in the afternoon.
"Top temperatures 13 to 16 degrees with mainly light west to southwest breezes."
And it's going to be another cool summers night, with temperatures dropping to as low as 3C.
A forecaster added: "Tonight there will be further showers with some clear spells.
"Cool with lowest temperatures falling to around 3 to 7 degrees in just light variable or southerly breezes with some mist patches forming."
Meanwhile, Sunday will a bleak June day, as Met Eireann has predicted widespread showers and thundery downpours.
Met Eireann said: "Sunday will be a showery day with showers becoming widespread by midday and heavy in the afternoon and evening with the risk of thundery downpours, especially in the west and north.
"Top temperatures 13 to 17 degrees in light to moderate south to southwest breezes."
However, the weather is set to take a turn with summer-like conditions expected on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Monday will be warm with highs of 18C, but heavy showers will hit some parts of Ireland.
And the following three days will be drier and warmer again with temperatures of up to 19C - and even 20C - on the way.
