Irish weather forecast: Met Eireann warns of bitterly cold Monday night with subzero temperatures

Ireland is set to bask in mild weather over the coming days - but Monday night will be bitterly cold.

Met Eireann has forecasted temperatures as high as 15C during the week with mostly dry and sunny days.

Monday will be largely dry with sunny spells apart from the odd showers.

A forecaster said: “Highest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees in light to moderate northwest winds.”

However, a frosty Monday night is in store for parts of the country.

Met Eireann is forecasting a chilly night with temperatures dropping to as low as -1C, with “some frost inland in little or no wind".

Dry weather with sunshine will continue into Tuesday with light westerly winds.

“Highest temperatures will be 11C to 14C.

“Dry and cold on Tuesday night with mostly clear skies. Lowest temperatures of 0C to 5C with some frost over southern parts.”

Wednesday will see temperatures of 10C to 15C and will be dry and fairly sunny.

“Wednesday night will be cold again with lowest temperatures between -1C and 5C. A slight frost is likely in Leinster and Munster."
