Ireland is experiencing a miserable start to the week - but temperatures are to soar leading up to the Easter weekend.
Just five counties have escaped weather warnings for Monday, as heavy rain and strong winds batter parts of the country.
However, the week will gradually get warmer and drier, with temperatures of up to 20C expected on Good Friday. And Met Eireann forecaster Liz Walsh believes it could get hotter again on Saturday and Sunday.
She told the Independent: "As we progress into the week, it's going to start getting warmer.

Irish weather forecast: Four warnings in place as Ireland battered by rain and 110km/h gusts
"By Easter weekend, we could see temperatures of up to 23C - a much better outlook for the holiday weekend.
"So we just have to get through this period and the weather should be warm and settled."
Tuesday is to be damp and cloudy, with highest temperatures ranging between 13C and 15C.
But Wednesday and Thursday are to be dry days with sunny spells, with highs of 17C to 18C.
The forecasts for Friday, Saturday and Sunday are still "very good", but rain is to return next week, according to Met Eireann.

Meanwhile, four weather warnings remained in place for 21 counties on Monday.
Cork and Waterford were hit with a Status Orange rainfall warning, while Kilkenny, Wexford, Kerry, Limerick and Tipperary were issued with a Status Yellow rainfall alert.
Meanwhile, yellow wind warnings were issued for Donegal, Galway, Mayo, Cork, Kerry, Dublin, Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Wexford, Wicklow, Offaly, Leitrim, Roscommon, Sligo, Clare, Limerick, Tipperary and Waterford. All warnings are due to end between 5pm and 7pm on Monday.
