Irish weather forecast: Met Eireann predicts warm, dry and sunny days with rising temperatures

Ireland will enjoy warm and sunny conditions over the next two days as temperatures are set rise again.

After a cracking weekend, Monday saw much cooler weather return, and although conditions improved on Tuesday, highs didn't surpass 15C.

But Met Eireann is forecasting hot, dry and sunny spells over the next two days with temperatures expected to hit as high as 17C on Wednesday and 18C on Thursday.

A Met Eireann forecaster said: "Any frost will clear quickly and mist or fog patches will lift through the morning to give a dry and bright day with plenty of sunshine.

"Highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees, but a bit cooler in coastal areas due to onshore breezes. Winds will be generally light variable or easterly in direction."

Despite the high daytime temperatures, it will get as cold as 1C on Wednesday night in parts of Ireland.

The forecaster added: "Dry and mostly clear tonight. Winds continuing light allowing some mist and fog patches to form. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 5 degrees."

Wednesday will be warmer, but some areas may experience some patches of rain in the evening.

"A lot of dry and bright weather tomorrow. A little more cloud than previous days turning some of the sunshine hazy.

"Cloud will build from the south during the day bringing some patchy light rain into southern coastal counties by evening.

"Highs of 14 to 17 or 18 degrees, mildest in the midlands and west. A little cooler on the east coast in a light to moderate easterly breeze."
