Irish weather forecast: Met Eireann predicts more heavy rain after a weekend of stormy weather

Ireland is set to battered by more heavy downpours this week after a stormy weekend.

Monday will be mostly dry with scattered outbreaks of rain.

It’ll be mild with temperatures ranging between 13C to 16C, coolest in the east and warmest in the midlands and west.

Monday night will see rain arriving in the west and spreading across the country overnight.

Temperatures will be 9C to 10C.

A rainy start is expected on Tuesday which will clear away with sunshine in the west.

A Met Eireann forecaster said: “However, in the east outbreaks of rain will continue for much of the day. Highest temperatures of 11C to 13C.

“It will become largely dry on Tuesday night with clear spells and it will turn quite cold with lowest temperatures of 3C to 6C in light breezes.”

Wednesday will see some heavy showers after a generally bright and dry start.

“Highest temperatures of 12C or 13C, in light variable breezes. The showers will become isolated on Wednesday night with lowest temperatures of 5C or 6C.”
