Ireland will enjoy its hottest week of the year so far with temperatures as high as 27C on the way.
Met Eireann is forecasting scorching heat over the next five days.
And highs could exceed 25C on Thursday and Friday as parts of the country look set to experience a brief heatwave.
Meanwhile, it's going to be a misty Monday morning but warm and sunny spells are expected later on. Thundery showers may still affect some areas throughout the morning.
A forecaster said: "Early morning mist and fog will gradually clear and there will be good sunshine during the day.
"However heavy thundery showers will break out from late morning onwards but many places will continue to remain dry for the day.
"Becoming warm with highs of 18 to 22 degrees in light breezes."
Monday night will be mostly mild and dry, but some fog patches may form overnight.
A forecaster added: "The last of any showers will die out by late evening and the night will be mainly dry and clear with lows of 11 or 12 degrees. Mist and fog patches are again likely to form."
Tuesday
Tuesday will be warmer and drier, despite the "odd shower".
A spokesman said: "There may be the odd shower during Tuesday but in general it will be a warm, sunny and dry day with temperatures continuing to improve; highs of 19 to 23 degrees in northeast breezes."
Wednesday
The good spell of weather looks set to continue on Wednesday with highs of 24C expected - highest values are to be recorded in the mid west.
"A warm day with good sunshine and highest temperatures of 19 to 24 degrees, warmest across the midwest. Northeast breezes."
Thursday
Met Eireann is currently forecasting that Thursday will be the hottest day of the year so far as temperatures soar to potential sizzling 27C.
A spokesman said: "Another warm and sunny day with highs of 20 to 27 degrees, again warmest in the midwest."
Friday
There is to be "little change" on Friday, as the national forecaster has predicted another warm and sunny day with highs ranging from 20C to 26C.
