Irish weather forecast: Met Eireann predicts highs of 'in the 20s' with parts of Ireland enjoying sunny Saturday

It will be a sunny Saturday for parts of Ireland - with temperatures possibly reaching the low 20s.

Met Eireann is forecasting another warm and humid day, but it will be cloudy to start off with.

The clouds will begin to clear over the afternoon, with temperatures of up to 20C expected. And parts of Leinster and Munster could see highs of even warmer than 20C.

A forecaster said: "Rather overcast at first today with patches of light rain or drizzle; hill and coastal fog too.

"However, overall the day will bring a good deal of dry weather and the cloud will start to break this afternoon with a few sunny intervals developing.

"A humid day in southwest breezes, with top temperatures of 15 to 20 degrees Celsius, but possibly touching the low twenties under any longer sunny breaks with best values across Leinster and west Munster."

How to get rid of sunburn fast

It's going to be a warm Saturday night, but there will be rain showers overnight - especially in western areas. Lowest temperatures will range between 9C and 13C.

A forecaster added: "Outbreaks of rain will gradually move eastwards across the country tonight, heaviest across Atlantic counties.

"Relatively mild and humid with lowest temperatures of 9 to 13 degrees Celsius, in a freshening westerly breeze."
