Ireland will enjoy one of its best days of the year so far on Thursday as temperatures are to hit as high as 18C.
Met Eireann is forecasting a warm, dry and sunny afternoon - and no rain is expected.
There will be clear skies above most areas throughout the afternoon, but clouds may develop in the evening which could see the arrival of some showers.
A Met Eireann forecaster said: "Some patches of mist or fog early this morning. These will clear and today will be largely dry with good sunny spells.
"It will become cloudier in the south later with a few showers developing near the south coast this evening.
"Highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees, with moderate easterly breezes, warmest in the midlands."
Despite the warm conditions during the day, it could be as cold as 3C on Thursday night.
The south is to get some showers overnight, while clear skies are expected in the north.
The forecaster added: "Tonight, cloud will extend northwards with a few showers developing over the southern half of the country.
"It will remain dry further north with clear spells. Lowest temperatures of 3 to 8 degrees, coldest in Ulster."
Friday will be as warm as Thursday, but far more rain is being forecast.
The forecaster said: "Friday morning will be dry with the best of any sunny spells over the northern half of the country.
"Rain will develop in the south around noon and spread over the southern half of the country through the afternoon and evening. Highest temperatures of 13 to 18 degrees with moderate easterly breezes."
