Irish weather forecast: Met Eireann predict mild week ahead as temperatures will hit highs of 15C

Met Eireann have revealed that Ireland is set for a period of mild weather as temperatures reach highs of 15C next week.

The pleasant conditions of Saturday look set to continue in many areas today, although some scattered showers are expected this evening and into tonight.

A forecaster said: "Mist, fog and frost early this morning, gradually clearing later to give a mainly dry day with sunny spells.

"There'll be a little drizzle in north Ulster this morning. This evening, some light showers will develop in Munster.

"Highest temperatures of 10 to 15C, coolest in the east and mildest in the west with light to moderate easterly breezes."

And the mild temperatures will carry over into next week, with highs staying in the low-to-mid teens.

There will be some outbreaks of rain on Monday and Tuesday, but the rest of the week is set to remain dry with some sunny spells breaking through.

A Met Eireann spokesman added: "Monday will be mostly cloudy with outbreaks of showery rain in places, mainly over north Leinster, Connacht, south Ulster and also in southwest Munster.

"The best of any sunshine will be over the northern half of Ulster and parts of the midlands.

"Highest temperatures of 10 to 15C with moderate easterly breezes.

"Tuesday will be mostly cloudy. Ulster will be mainly dry with some sunny spells.

"However, outbreaks of rain and drizzle will affect much of Leinster, Munster and Connacht. The rain will gradually clear southwards through the afternoon and evening.

"Highest temperatures of 10 to 14C with moderate easterly breezes."

Wednesday and Thursday meanwhile look set to remain "mainly dry with sunny spells" and highs of 13C.

Temperatures will improve even further ahead of the weekend, as the mercury is set to rise to 15C in some places.
