Met Eireann have predicted "long spells of sunshine" and dry, mild weather over the bank holiday weekend.
The best of the pleasant conditions are expected on Sunday, with highs of 15C possible in some areas.
However there will be a sharp dip in temperatures overnight on Saturday, with freezing conditions leading to frost in places.
A Met Eireann forecaster said: "Some showers or rain or hail on the east Leinster coast early this morning, clearing to the south.

"Today will be largely dry and sunny in all areas.
"It will be quite cool with highest temperatures ranging from 9C in the north to 14C in the southwest with moderate northeasterly breezes.
"Tonight will be cold and dry with clear spells. Lowest temperatures of -1 to +2C with frost in places."
But despite the sub-zero conditions overnight, Sunday looks set to be dry, mild and sunny day in most areas, with the best of the warm weather in the south.

A forecaster added: "Sunday will be mainly dry with long spells of sunshine. A few showers may develop in coastal areas of north and east Ulster.
"Highest temperatures ranging from 8C in the north to 15C in the south, very light variable breezes.
"Sunday night will be mainly dry. However, a little light rain or drizzle is likely in northern areas. Lowest temperatures of 1 to 4C.

"Monday will be mainly dry with good sunny spells in the south and west.
"It will be somewhat cloudier in the east and north and there'll be a little patchy rain or drizzle in parts of Ulster and possibly north Leinster.
"Highest temperatures of 9 to 12C with light variable breezes."
