Ireland will bask in its last blast of summer sunshine this weekend as temperatures are set to soar to 20C.
Today will begin slightly damp but the showers are expected to clear as the day goes on, making way for largely dry conditions with some sunny spells.
And it will be dry and sunny almost everywhere on Saturday, with highs of 18C expected.
A Met Eireann forecaster said: "Today will start dull and damp, but the rain will clear this morning and the rest of the day will be mainly dry with sunny spells and just isolated showers.
"Highest temperatures of 16 to 19C. Breezy with moderate to fresh west to northwest winds.
"Generally dry tonight with clear spells. Lowest temperatures of 9 to 11C in moderate westerly winds.
"Tomorrow Saturday will be dry almost everywhere with sunny spells. Highest temperatures of 16 to 18C just light northwest winds."
The hottest day of the weekend will be on Sunday, as the mercury is set to rise to a very pleasant 20C in places.
Enjoy the good weather while it lasts however, as next week temperatures are expected to return to more average values for the time of year.
A forecaster added: "Remaining overnight rain in the east soon clearing on Monday morning, followed by a mix of sunshine and showers.
"A cooler day on Monday with top temperatures of 13 to 16C in moderate northwesterly winds, fresh at times near the coast.
"Tuesday is looking mainly dry with sunny spells. Later in the day or in the night rain is expected to arrive from the west with strengthening winds as well."
