June is set to continue it's miserable start today, with a status yellow rain warning in place for eleven counties.
Met Eireann warns that counties Dublin, Kildare, Laois, Longford, Louth, Wicklow, Offaly, Westmeath, Meath, Cavan and Monaghan will experience heavy rainfall today and over night.
According to the warning, which will kick in from 7am this morning and will continue until 6am on Wednesday, up to 35mm of rainfall can be expected.
There's even a risk of spot flooding in some counties today, with Met Eireann forecasting that it will be cloudy and misty for much of the day.
Temperatures will reach 15C at their highest.
A Met Eireann forecaster said: "Rain over Munster and south Leinster will become fairly widespread this morning, with the rain heaviest over Leinster and east Ulster, giving a risk of some spot flooding.
"But more showery weather will develop over west Connacht and much of Munster this afternoon, a few of which may turn heavy and thundery.
"Top temperatures 12 to 16 C., in light to moderate northwest breezes.
"Further rain over Ulster and parts of Leinster and east Connacht for a time tonight, heavy in places.
"But more showery elsewhere, with some dry spells. Lowest temperatures 6 to 9 C., in moderate northwest breezes."
Tomorrow's weather will bring much of the same conditions, with top temperatures between 12-15C, a Met Eireann forecaster added: "Early rain over northern areas soon clearing. Some bright or sunny spells developing, but some showers at times too, a few heavy.
"Top temperatures 12 to 15 C., in light to moderate northwesterly breezes."
