Irish weather forecast: Met Eireann forecasts dry and sunny Bank Holiday weekend but warns of chilly snap

We're set for a sunny and dry Bank Holiday weekend, but Met Eireann has warned that a chilly snap is on the way.

Saturday will be mostly dry with good sunshine but “fairly cool with highest daytime temperatures of only 9C to 12C in light northerly breezes”.

A Met Eireann forecaster said: “The night will be clear and chilly with lows around 0C allowing grass frost to develop.”

Irish weather forecast: Showers and sunshine today with highs of 15C but chilly nights ahead

Sunday will be sunny and cool with temperatures ranging between 9C to 12C with the cold weather continuing into the nighttime.

Monday will see a few light showers in the north but “in general little break in the dry, bright and cool weather”.

A Met Eireann spokesperson warned that high-pressure dominating over the next couple of days didn’t necessarily mean “wall-to-wall sunshine”.
