Irish weather forecast: Met Eireann forecasts dry and mild days with cold nights

Mild weather is on the cards with Met Eireann forecasting temperatures as high as 15C.

While day time weather will see dry and warm conditions, night time temperatures will nosedive to as low as 0C.

But settled conditions will turn cooler by the weekend, the national forecaster has warned.

Tuesday

Tuesday temperatures will hit as high as 15C with long dry periods predicted.

Dry conditions in the north will slowly spread southwards as the day goes on with sunny spells developing.

But parts of Munster and south Leinster will see cloudier conditions with patchy rain.

Tuesday night will be mostly dry with mist and fog forming thanks to good clear spells nationwide.

A Met Eireann forecaster said: “Lowest temperatures 0C to 4C, with some frost.”

Wednesday

Wednesday morning will see good sunshine, but there will be a few showers in the afternoon across the midland and west counties.

“However, it will remain mostly sunny in the east. Maximum temperatures 9C to 14C, in light southeasterly or variable breezes.”

Wednesday night will be dry with variable cloud cover.

“Temperatures will fall to freezing or a little below where clear spells occur, especially in parts of Leinster, with some frost.

“Temperatures in cloudier areas will range 2C to 6C. Patches of mist and fog will develop also, in light winds.”

Thursday

Thursday will see mostly dry weather with a mix of cloud and sunny spells, but a few isolated light showers are also expected.

“Winds will be light, southeasterly or variable and patches of mist and fog are likely overnight in near calm conditions.

“Some frost also, especially in the eastern half of the country, where breaks in cloud occur. Minimum temperatures 0C to 4C.” Spanish airport strike could cause travel chaos for Irish passengers over Easter Bank Holiday weekend

“Little change. Mainly dry, settled conditions continuing, with bright or sunny spells at times and just a small chance of a few isolated light showers, especially in the western half of the country.

“Winds will be mostly moderate southeasterly, but it will become windy along Atlantic coasts by Saturday, with fresh to strong southeasterly winds developing there.

“Maximum temperatures on Friday 10C to 13C, but Saturday will be colder, with maximum values of 8C to 10C.

“Nights will be cool, with minimum temperatures of 1C to 5C, but frost is unlikely.”

Sunday

“There is still some uncertainty, but current indications suggest that it will remain dry and bright in most areas, but rain may develop in the southwest later in the day, possibly also in western parts of Connacht.

“Quite a cold day, in moderate to fresh southeasterly winds. Max. 7C to 10C.”
