Ireland will enjoy another scorching hot day as a mini-heatwave hits the country.
Many counties were lashed by rain at the weekend, before highs of 26C in sunny conditions on Monday.
And Met Eireann is forecasting the brief blast of hot weather to stay on Tuesday. Another hot and humid day is expected, with temperatures of up to 26C again.
A forecaster said: "Another warm humid day with highest temperatures of 22 to 26 degrees in southerly breezes.
"Good sunshine through the day but some cloudy periods also. Misty conditions may persist near the coast and temps will be lower."
It will be a mostly dry and humid Tuesday night, but there is the threat of an "isolated thunder shower".
A forecaster added: "A humid night that will be generally dry but with an increasing risk of an isolated thundery shower breaking out. Lows of 13 to 16 degrees."
Wednesday and Thursday should remain warm. However, there is the possibility of thunderstorms hitting across both days.
"Still warm on Wednesday but generally cloudier and with a further risk of thundery showers through the day. Highs of 19 to 23 degrees in light breezes.
"On Thursday, generally cloudy with outbreaks of heavy thundery rain in places; the eastern half of the country will tend to be drier for longer.
"Still warm and humid with highs of 20 to 24 degrees in southerly winds."
Friday will be cooler and less humid, but there will be more sunny spells despite the odd shower.
A Met Eireann forecaster said: "Becoming fresher as the winds switch to westerly and highs of 16 to 20 degrees.
"Good sunshine through the day but scattered showers will also occur."
