The outlook for the next week of Irish weather does not looking promising, with Met Eireann forecasting plenty of rain.
A heat wave is expected to blast much of the UK next week, but Ireland will miss out as our summer slump continues.
Friday will be the best day of this week with temperatures of 16C possible.
The mercury will fall as low as 14C on Saturday with heavy rain forecast.
Low pressure will stick around on Sunday, bringing scattered showers with top temperatures of 14 to 17C.
The national forecaster said: "Friday morning will be cloudy in the east with some lingering rain or drizzle at first.
"Further rain tonight, mostly across the midlands, east and south, with the odd heavier burst near Irish Sea coasts. Lowest temperatures 7 to 10 degrees Celsius.
"Light to moderate northerly breezes. A few mist patches will form towards dawn, mainly in the east and south."
Looking ahead to the weekend, a Met Eireann forecaster added: "Low pressure looks set to remain positioned close to Ireland for the weekend bringing mixed weather conditions with heavy showers on both days and some sunshine in between.
"Temperatures will recover a little, and it will feel pleasant enough in any afternoon sunshine with mostly light to moderate southerly breezes.
"Monday is likely to see scattered heavy showers. Temperatures will gradually return to more normal values for the time of year."
